My Rays tribute to Joe Maddon

While this site is where I write about the facts and figures behind Tampa Bay baseball and where I put on my MBA hat, I am also still a Rays fan with a degree in Creative Writing. Which means I like to occasionally pen longform and try to capture emotion and feeling. Years before this site started, Cork Gaines at Rays gave me a forum to do that. Thankfully, even with this site up and running, Cork still allows me to drop by and post things I don’t think would fit the flow here.

My latest post on Rays Index was published this morning. It is tribute and tip of the cap to former Rays manager Joe Maddon. I discuss Maddon’s impact on the franchise, his adherence to the process, and whether or not his number should be retired and when.
